The most basic way for us to start to heal the body is with the breath.
It is said that only 11% of the general public know the proper way to take a deep healing breath.
When we are born, the doctor slaps us on the butt and we take our first breath, bringing prana deep into our lungs. As we grow we continue to breath and at the end of life our final action is a deep exhail, we exist on a breath. The yogi's say that we are each given x amount of prana at the time our soul enters the body, when this prana is used up we die. By working to become aware of our breath we can master the tool given to us by our creator to extend our life and maintain optimal physical and mental health. In Kundalini Yoga, Pranayam (breathing exercise) is the bridge between the mind and body working to heal and strengthen both.
With stress building in the body day by day it is easy for us to lose touch with the breath and allow disease to manifest in our systems. If we are not balancing our Vayus (Pranas) we are not allowing our internal energy to distribute properly in the body thus allowing external pathogenic factors or (EPF'S) to enter our systems and make us sick. Stress weakens our resistance to these EPF's and leads to disease in the body, confusion in the mind, and a disconnection from our soul.
With tonight's Kriya: KRIYA FOR DISEASE RESISTANCE (KRI teacher trainer manual level 1 pg 306)
We will work to balance the systems in the body linking them with an awareness of the breath to fortify our health.
We will finish with the: MEDITATION FOR PROJECTION & PROTECTION FROM THE HEART (KRI teacher trainer manual level 1 pg 437)
This meditation gives you an enchanting, magnetic personality and uses the Mangala Charn Mantra to surround the magnetic field of the body with protective light.
